| | Two T-day dinners in one day matched with unbridled gluttony. So much ham and turkey. So glorious. Loving this holiday season. Over the next five plus weeks I have 13 days of work, two holidays, two vacations and tons of days off. Nice.
And there will be gaming... oh yes. I m now involved in four roleplay games on top of BloodBowl and erion s 40k league is looming on the horizon.
Life is sweet (not unlike lead paint).
Also, I ll pause to wish a belated welcome to erion amongst the illustrious list of blog friends. Interesting note that erion and The Wanderer appear side by side... two childhood buddies who I became good friends with completely independent of each other. Small world.

| | | OK, so even Sean Salisbury called for Randel El to start over Maddox. Seriously, if Maddox starts one more time I will disavow the Steelers for the rest of the season and root for the wretched Bengals. Just you wait and see. I m not fucking kidding here.
Fucking Tommy fucking Maddox.
In more upbeat sports news the UFC fights were sweet. Although the two title bouts were more jokes than challenges... still made for entertaining action. I was a bit dismayed when Dana White decided he wanted to be Vince McMahon... apparently he has signed the Undertaker to a UFC contract or something. Sad. Just when UFC was looking so promising they head down that slippery slope.
Oh, well, at least we still have Pro Thunderball.
In other news had my first Turkey Day dinner Sunday (first of three)... God, I love Turkey Day... no day will ever be as grand!

| Dictionary.com s Word of the Day has been my homepage at work for years. I ve long assumed that there was a gamer at the helm of this thing as I ve seen a long list of decidedly gamer related words pop up there... termagant, celerity, antediluvian, camarilla etc... there were just too many too be a coincidence. Though this nameless geek has shown a clear propensity for White Wolf games, it seems he s (or less likely, she s) also a D&D fan.
Last two day s words... kobold and prestidigitation. Nice.
I think that pretty much seals it.
Keep an eye... see if we get a full week of D&D terms.
-b | | | Updates are slipping again. Alack.
This past weekend was Meghan s birthday, so we made a sojourn back to AC to try to re-enact our earlier successes. Same casino, same table, same dealers... opposite results. We recovered from a early slump driving us to the brink of bankruptcy to go up by a fair margin. Problem was, we had developed a great rapport with our fellow gamblers and were having too much fun to wisely walk away. So we kept playing and eventually busted out. Oh well... we played for hours and had a blast. We ll be back before too long.
I did manage to find a reasonably priced hotel room a block off the boardwalk so it was nice to gamble and not drive back at 8 in the morning. Not that I have a problem with the usual driving at 8 itinerary... I suspect that will remain our usual AC MO.
Anyway, Cold Stone Birthday Ice Cream Cake healed all wounds from our losses. Sweet sweet Cold Stone.
In other news Steelers rock. Big Ben will be back soon. Hopefully the coaching staff has realized that Randel El is a better passer than Maddox. We can NOT let him start for us... ever. It is the kiss of death.
Eagles fans... sorry bout your luck. Run the ball. You can do it. You did it yesterday. Rushing is your friend. Rushing is good. Rushing won t cost you games that you dominated. I would really like to see the Iggles go on a late run just to show up TO... looks like that may be a bit much to ask with McNabb all messed up.
In other news, Erion gave me demos of both Warlord and Confrontation on Saturday. Warlord was quick and very straight forward. Confrontation had an elegant and elaborate attacking/die allocation/wounding system that really bears further playtesting. Their miniatures are just so beautiful, it really may be worth taking up the game. Damn you, Jeff... last thing I need is to add to my ever expanding pile of miniatures waiting to be painted.
My company has instituted a limit to the number of vacation days that can be carried over from year to year (a new policy inherited from our new parent company) so I need to take over 2 weeks vacation before the new year. Looks like there will be an 18-19 day stretch from mid Dec into Jan will I will not work. Sweet. I m looking to take a vacation with Meghan somewhere in there as well... someplace warm probably.
Trying to think if I m missing anything. Freshly killed pig and cow is damn tasty. We re-confirmed that. Not that there was much question.
Go see Johnny Cash this weekend. Do it. Greatest musical talent of the 20th century (anyone who claims that title belongs to the Beatles deserves to be punched in the face).
That is all for now.
-bampf | | | So TO has been suspended by the Eagles (great pick-up, guys), further proving him the biggest asshole in football and meanwhile, apparently, France is on fire!
Man. Things just continue to look up.
At this rate either Jerry Bruckheimer or Wil Farrel will be killed in a plane crash at any minute. Let s all keep our fingers crossed!!
Let us live that impossible dream.
-bampf | | | So Star Wars Ep III is in stores now. Anyone who has, is planning to, or has thought about purchasing this DVD, please respond to this post so that I will know to hold you in the highest contempt from this point forth.
Apparently there was some kind of release thing last night at Media Play. I wish Evan had told me sooner (and the Steelers weren t on)... I woulda made a sign and staged an impromptu demonstration, with the ultimate goal of braining every moron there with said sign.
It would be a very heavy sign. Maybe with rusty nails in it.
Anyway, speaking of Steelers. We rock. Monday night win was ugly. Real ugly. But I ll take it. I just wanna know where our pass rush was? We were three yards deep on every running play but couldn t touch Wright on passing downs. Sad.
In other news. This weekend is butchering weekend. If anyone wants to help slaughter a bunch of defenseless pigs and then cut them up into little bite size bits, please let me know. You ll be rewarded with free meat for your efforts. Mmmmm... piggy.
Big story from this past weekend was the gun show. I m a frugal person normaly. But sometimes you just can t resist the sweet siren song of beautiful assault rifles. Kent and I both planned to mostly wind shop and maybe spend a few bucks on ammo or an airsoft gun. We both ended up coming home with AR-15 Carbines. So sweet. So lovely. Guns are good. We love guns.
I also picked up an airsoft P-90. It s pretty sweet, but kinda overshadowed by the AR. Just have to make sure the AK doesn t get jealous.
Halloween passed uneventfully otherwise. Oh well.
Later all.
