| | Good times this weekend. Meghan and I saw Silent Hill Friday. Sorry erion and Wanderer, our grandious plans to see Slevin and maybe double or triple date went awry as we ended up being stuck in Carlisle (car troubles combined with Meghans work schedule) and stuck with limited movie options. So we made do with the hand dealt us. Silent Hill had some decent moments and some cool effects but didn t really work overall. I ve also never been a horror movie fan so I wasn t expecting much... and that s what I got.
Saturday was a busy day as I got my car inspected (which required a stop by PennDOT) and dropped my long broken TV off at a repair place. Rest of the day was spent in front of a computer screen with Kent and Probie.
Sunday was our aforementioned Philly trip. Had a good time with the Wanderer and got to hang out with Chad and Wellman, who I hadn t seen in quite some time. Got bested by the Burkey hoagie (aka The Turducken) and got to see the monstrous 500 foot homer. Good times. CBP really is a beautiful place to see a game... not that I d make a regular habit of it. Overall a very good time though. Check out the Wanderer s site for a much better accounting, figured there was no need for me to rehash his entry.

So, what has been going on? I filed my taxes (and my brother s, and my sister s and Meghan s state) with a few days to spare... a new record for me. House ownership will net me a nice return... the dough will probably show up right around the May Gun Show... Hmmmmm.
I pretty much made it through the family birthday gauntlet of early April (8th, 13th, 17th- mom, gram, sis) largely unscathed. We did a family bowling bash last Saturday to celebrate. I rolled horribly, but did succeed at generating the most momentum of any bowler in the building on every roll. My sister and I quoted Lebowski relentlessly and kept breaking into "Just Dropped In (To See What Condition My Condition Was In)" (as an aside, I never knew this was a Kenny Rogers song... Kenny, you rock!). Meghan fruitlessly attempted to avoid gutterballs as ball after ball overpowered her spindly girly arms.
Later, Arlovski lost the UFC heavyweight belt to the Tapmaster in a poorly officiated early stoppage... that sucked. And then it was Easter.
Easter was mostly spent eating ham and trimming Mom s new giant fuzzball angora rabbit. A noble endeavor to say the least. In numerous waves (the rabbit was only good for about 10 minutes of trimming at a time before it would spazz out)we managed to trim the layers of unkempt matted fur back to its hips. Giving the final impression of a normal rabbit wearing a frayed Hawaiian grass skirt made of fur.
Anyway. Double dip of D&D this past week and the start of a new BloodBowl league... huzzah!
This weekend I m making a sojourn to Philly to take in a Phils game with The Wanderer, Chad and Wellman. I won some sweet tickets at a drawing at work so I guess this will be my one annual baseball game trip... a slight tip of the hat to the memories of when I cared about baseball... back when the sport didn t suck so heartily.
Probably try to sneak in a Slevin viewing at some point this weekend as well... I m a sucker for the innumerable Tarantino imitators.
That s about it for me.
-bampf | | | OK, so I m at the Target getting a gift for my mom for her birthday. As I m leaving I see this car parked next to me. It has a personalized license plate that reads COKE ONE. It has a Coca Cola emblazoned license plate holder. It has three Coke themed bumper stickers including: "I Drink Coke and I'm Proud of It."
I was astonished.
How fucking sad of a person do you have to be that your crowning acheivement in this life is that you drink the most commonly consumed beverage on the planet!? Seriously. What the hell? I wasn t sure if I should be filled with pity or rage.
Friggin people. No wonder there s two dozen new reality shows every season... the nation is chocked full of these people.

| So this weekend was the Death Cup BloodBowl tourney in DC. We had a full car load with Evan, Probie and Tyson making the trip. Had a glorious time. Tons of fun. My team performed miserably, getting beat around by everyone, including halflings. Sometimes the dice giveth, some time they taketh away. We did well as a group though. Tyson missed playing the championship game by a single die roll, Evan finished 2nd overall (and won a painted team for his efforts), Probie won most TDs and I nabbed Best Painted (again).
So I was vindicated. Sort of.
Very good weekend all in all. Fun group of guys down DC way.
Of course, after my miserable showing, I felt compelled to come home Sunday and play a bunch of games online to prove to myself that I didn t suck. BloodBowl is life, y know.
Back here in the real world, tax time deadline is rapidly approaching and I, in typical slacker mode, am still procrastinating on that one. What s wrong with me? Sheesh.

| | | OK, been away for a great long time again. Blogs are a responsibility I m obviously not quite ready for... shoulda worked up to it... maybe with a goldfish first followed by a puppy. Oh well.
What s been going on? Well, I was crowned BloodBowl champion, with a long overdue win in the AGBBL finals. Fought an excruciatingly close match against a far better developed team and somehow came out of top. Mandelbrots Minions rule! I won t assail you guys with the Heisenburg jokes I ve battered everyone else with.
Not much else new going on. Been online BloodBowling. Oh, and I have been destroying cars with my presence. In the past two weeks Evan, Kent and Meghan have all had car issues. Kent and Megan so much so that they had to scrap the old and buy new ones. Apparently I m the carrier for some kind of vehicular virus. So far my car is immune... and now I ve probably jinxed myself for our trip to DC this weekend for a BloodBowl tourney.
Damnation.
That s about it for me. If anything exciting happens I ll check back in.
