Quote of the Day:
Let me live deep while I live; let me know the rich juices of red meat and stinging wine on my palate, the hot embrace of white arms, the mad exultation of battle when blue blade flame and crimson, and I am content. Let teachers and priests and philosophers brood over questions of reality and illusion. I know this: if life is illusion, then I am no less an illusion, and being thus, the illusion is real to me. I live, I burn with life, I love, I slay, and I am content. -Conan of Cimmeria

All right, I m mad as hell and I m not gonna take it anymore. While casually perusing my tax return to gauge the need for using a professional next year I came across a glaring error made by my tax man, causing me to miss out on at least $1500 in deductions. That s like, minimum $300 in real money in my pocket that I m missing out on as a result. Bastard. Screw those guys. Come hell or high water I m going back to doing my own taxes next year. I m every bit as capable of lying to the government as those guys are, I just know I am.

Though this probably means I ll have to take up pen and paper well before April 12, like I did this year. But dammit, I m committed. That should be enough to overcome even my massive predilection for procrastination.

Predilection for procrastination. Damn, that has a nice ring to it. I like that... PFP for short.

That is all.

I know it s been a while since I posted. Forgive me, I ve been busy. But I had to post... a legend has passed. Let us all bow our heads in reverence to the great Charlton Heston. I mean, does it get any better than Hes? Maybe I ll make Soylent Green burgers for Nerd Night this week. And we can do some chariot racing... and smack around some of John s damn dirty monkey miniatures... and I dunno... what else would be a fitting tribute? Carve some stone tablets...

I know. We ll clean my guns! Or at least lovingly fondle them.

All right. What else has been going on? My gym routine has continued. Weight loss has pretty much plateaued, but muscle mass is coming back so that s all good. I ve amped up both my weight training and my cardio routine to stay on course for Operation 6-Pack By Bikini Season (or 06PBBS). There s a guy at the gym who s usually there when I m there and around my strength so I now have a reliable spotter... that opens up a lot of possibilities until The Wanderer heals from his innumerable injuries. Once spring actually arrives in earnest (rather than just teasing us) I wanna try to get out and play some tennis. It s been a while. I m still courting partners.

Been watching a lot of movies and DVDs lately. Best so far has been Darjeeling Limited. Wes Anderson is a genius. It s not Tannenbaums, but it does make you want to go to India... like right now.

Still doing the dating thing. With mixed results. Highs and lows. Ups and downs. Guess it s about what s to be expected, but that doesn t mean I have to like it.

Clock is ticking for me to get my taxes done. I m procrastinating even more than usual over fretting about how the coffee shop will complicate the issue. Guess we ll find out this week. Fun fun. I also still need to file my sibling s returns. No rest for the weary. Let me tell ya.

All right enough rambling for now.
