| | Had a fine BloodBowl weekend. Tubby, Probie and I made the trip to Philly for the Philly Phrakus. Good times. Got to hang out with the BB tourney crew, who we ve come to know quite well. My Chaos disappointed me again. I finished a lukewarm 2-2-1, though I was a couple of dice rolls from 3-1-1. In retrospect I didn t finish as bad as I first thought. I managed to finish both first and second in painting... how s that for a feat?
The new plan is to paint up a new team to take to Boston. Hopefully I can get that done in time. We ll see.
Other than that things have been good. Aziz continus to be an awesome kitty and now has full reign of the house. Sadie continues to live in perpetual terror. Poor cat.
Some time this week I should be hooking up with The Wanderer for some racquetball action... meaning I ll be joining a gym. Long overdue. If I can get back into some semblance of shape I have delusions of getting back into heavy fighting and maybe even rugby.
Got to convince myself I m still young somehow... dating barely pubescent women just ain t cutting it anymore I guess..
-bampf | | | A discussion with Todd at lunch the other day about the overall lack of quality movies over the past five or so years got me thumbing through my Movies by Year listings. Made me realize I never did the movies of 2005. So I went ahead and did those rankings. So click on the link to peruse. Not nearly as bad a movie year as I remembered. Twelve really good movies listed there... and of course there s was that steaming pile of Lucas offal that we were forced to endure.
So check out the list and let me know what you think.
-b | | | I probably have mentioned it before, but it bears repeating. No one better embodies what I consider to be my generation more than Lore Sjoberg. The guy is awesome and probably the best thing going on the internet right now (yes, even better than porn).
First, here is his brilliant description of the Shadowrun game/setting for the uninitiated:
If you're not familiar with Shadowrun, it's for people who hate it when elves don't have machine guns. It's set in a cyberpunky future where magic has reawakened and the creatures of legend live along side technology, and -- well, the point is that the elves have machine guns.
And second, his comments on the Star Wars DVD sets:
Lucas Sucks
Ingenius.
In other news, Jamie joins the D&D group tomorrow, after much heckling on erion s blog. Poor bastard doesn t know what he s getting into.
"Welcome to our nightmare, Alice." -Zorak
Mwuhahaha.

| | | So, as mentioned previously, we have a new addition. Friday we picked up Aziz. He s a Flame Point Himalayan. Pure breed (the fucking cat, has fucking papers, you can t board it, it gets nervous, its hair falls out... OVER THE LINE!). What that means is he s a tiny white fluff ball, with orange extremities (the flame points).
So far he s been everything you could want in a kitten. Cute and cuddly. Playful as hell. Incredibly inquisitive. And he hasn t complained at all about being drug all over creation this past weekend (5 car trips of all about 30 miles each). Maybe best of all, he seems to really like Shogun. We ll see how Shogun returns the favor... so far he s maintained a curious observatory stance. Sadie, meanwhile, predictably, hates him. She s such a priss.
Anyway, we took him to two family functions... Meghan s on Sat, mine on Sunday and he was a big hit at both. A few quick pics for the curious:

We re still trying to figure out what type of trick to teach him to do upon a "Aziz, Light!" instruction.
-bampf | | | OK, OK, I ll post to try to stem The Wanderer s complete takeover of ye olde BampfBlog(tm). Sorry, I ve gotten lazy again.
So, what s been going on? Well, Meghan is slowing moving her stuff into the house, and she been bringing a touch of the domestic to an otherwise testosterone laden sty. She s also bringing soup.. great bleating gobs of soup. Nice. We love soup.
VG Day passed after much build up and hoopla. Not sure if Tim s presence tainted VG Day or just made it funnier... I mean not twenty feet from where he was sitting a dozen people were wearing party hats and eating cake and ice cream in celebration of his departure. That s pretty damn funny.
Last weekend was gun show time and I couldn t help myself but nab a new gun. Grabbed a real cool-ass looking Mini-30 bullpup conversion. I had gotten my income tax refund the week previous and the gun fires my favorite round... the blessed 7.62x.39 so I was cornered. No choice. We also had a first, where every party member came back with a gun. Evan, Probie and even Little Big Tom left well armed. Nice. At some point I ll take a new inventory of the arsenal and post for the benefit of all (this info will come in handy for people like erion who will be taking up refuge here in the case of the apocalypse/Red Dawn Cuban attack... it s important to have guns for the whole post-apocalyptyic militia).
Today or tomorrow we ll be adding a new addition. We re getting a new kitty to hopefully be a plaything for Shogun and Meghan. And to probably further Sadie. Poor cat.
Saw Slevin yesterday. Excellent movie. Very well done. A little contrived, but considering the bar is set so low for movies these days a fresh and moderately irreverent movie stands out.
Well, enough posting for now. I can hopefully stave off the Wanderer assault for a while.
