So it s been quite a while since my last entry. Ah well. It happens. You ll get no apologies from me.
Since last I posted... let s see...
We had a fight night UFC thing, that was a lot of fun. Looks like that s gonna become a tradition.
Made an impromptu trip to Hersheypark with Meghan and a couple of her friends. Was a lot of fun. The oppressive heat and humidity relented long enough for us to have a very pleasant day. Rode most of the coasters and a handful of water rides. Good times. Think it s been a couple years since I was there last. Need to make plans for a Ren Faire trip next.
BloodBowl season is nearly finished. Evan ousted me from the playoffs... one pretty bug mistake and terrible dice and I was done. S'OK. It falls in line with Evan and I s plan to have neither of us or an elf team win it all... so go Tsyon!
Been doing some painting. Seems Meghan s become quite fond of painting so that helps, but the school semester has started so that may cut into dedicated paint time.
Fantasy Battle seems to be the new order of business for gaming (besides roleplay of course) so we ll see how that goes.
Saw Brothers Grimm (sorry Wanderer, I saw it in Carlise Sunday night so that s why I didn t bother calling). I liked it. It was cool and definitely had some real trademark Terry Gilliam moments, but it wasn t one of his greats by any stretch... he didn t write it so some silly plot divergences probably can t be blamed on the man. I still strongly recommend it... It s Terry Gilliam and every other movie released all year has been crap (save Sin City).
Well, enough for now.

Man, I love coming to work the day after the Stillers trounce the Eagles. All the Eagles fans just slink away as I proudly stride by in my Black and Gold colors.
Heh heh. Eagles suck. That s what you get for signing the biggest fucktard in NFL history. Good job.

So what have I been doing the past week? Good question. A few highlights:
Made cotton candy. There s obviously a trick to using the machine. I think I have it figured out, as the last batch came out the best. Only down side is you can only make a small wad at a time.
Went shooting. Made an impromptu trip to the range with the Wanderer. Blasted the dust off the Cetme and the AK. And I got to shoot a Garand! Nice! Pow Pow Pow Pow Pow Pow Pow Pow Ping! Sweet! On the down side, I may have convinced myself not to buy one (something I d been considering for a while). It s not the price of the gun that s prohibitive, it s the ammo... that and blasting through 30.06 rounds really wears your shoulder out quick.
Hosted an impromptu BloodBowl party. Had five different people over Saturday for BloodBowl, food and UFC fighting. Twas a real good time. Stayed up til the wee morning hours playing BloodBowl. Looking forward to future similar events...
Discovered Meghan s latent painting skills. Well, miniature painting, she was already an acomplished painter. But she s off to a running start in the miniature painting world. That s cool, she ll help crack the whip now on me getting minis done... I have a couple BloodBowl teams and an entire Tomb Kings army to work on (plus a force of Reaper Crusaders to fulfull my pledge to Jeff).
I m sure there was some other stuff I wanted to mention, but I m drawing a blank.
Ah well, it ll come to me.

So I m driving to Philly at my typical break-neck speeds this morning trying to ensure I m in the office in time for a client phone call from the UK and a big ol rock flies off of/is kicked up by the truck in front of me and nails my windshield. Puts a nice pock mark in it, which, over the next 50 or 60 miles slowly snakes out horizontally in both directions so that now I have a crack that stretches over 2/3 the width of my windshield. I assume that s probably not good. I have no idea if I have Comprehensive Coverage on my car insurance so I may have to eat the repair costs.
My question is: what level of culpability should that truck have? This is the third crack I ve received in two different windshields all from trucks. I mean, it s not like they re trying to break my windows but there s still gotta be some level of responsibility. I m thinking I should keep my handgun within arm s reach and just shoot out a window in retaliation next time. Not to hurt anybody... just a tit for tat sorta thing.
That s reasonable ain t it? Maybe that should be the new Bampf Poll(tm) question.
In other news, I finally sat down to watch the first episode of FireFly. Kent and Todd have both espoused the series as maybe the best show ever (despite its short life). I must admit it was very very good. Evan and I have pledged to watch the complete series on DVD before the forthcoming movie.
I m anxious to see more. The characters are excellent. The dialogue is fantastic. The setting is very cool... very space western in mood. Different and cool. And the science... finally for the first time ever, a sci-fi show where the ships make no sound in the vacuum of space! Thank you, Mr. Buffy guy! And take that Lucas, you fuckhead!
That is all for now. Still haven t made cotton candy... need to remedy that soon!

I have succumbed to the Ikea nesting instinct. Oh how sad is that?
Sunday Meghan and I took a drive to Philly to hit the giant Conshohocken Ikea. Got a bunch of much needed furniture. Things I ve been putting off for months. So now the house may start to look a bit respectable... at least the boxes of books will be replaced with shiny new book cases full of books. Yeah.
Alas, I didn t manage to find a coffee table that defines me... like one made from a ying and a yang. Maybe next time.
Did get a nice display case though for minis. Scheaf has one just like it (so does Meghan as a matter of fact) so I felt left out. Place is starting to take shape. A little more painting and carpet laying and who knows? The house may vault out of filthy bachelor pad status.
Anyway, since we were in the neighborhood we strolled around South Street a bit. Hit up all the sex shops... at least six, if I remember correctly. Good times for all.
Seems like I just can t stay away from that town. Ah well.
