Quote of the Day:
Let me live deep while I live; let me know the rich juices of red meat and stinging wine on my palate, the hot embrace of white arms, the mad exultation of battle when blue blade flame and crimson, and I am content. Let teachers and priests and philosophers brood over questions of reality and illusion. I know this: if life is illusion, then I am no less an illusion, and being thus, the illusion is real to me. I live, I burn with life, I love, I slay, and I am content. -Conan of Cimmeria

3/31/2003 9:19:14 AM         Since it Came upAdd Comment
Since the matter came up incidentally in the comments section I thought I d try to list all the names we assigned to people on the storied Gettysburg College campus (I ll rely on grm and bp to fill in the gaps):

Silly Dork Boy
Perpetually Drunk Guy
Disporportionate Chick
Blinders Guy
Pubic Beard Boy
Toad Boy
The Crane (aka The Goddess)
Chad II
Chad III
Little Danny Death
Twiggy (sporadically used to mock Mugabi up until his death)
Fish Boy
The Brain
Commie G

Damn. I know there s more, but I m drawing a blank. This of course excludes names we had for each other (ie bampf) and names that weren t exactly campus bound (ie Red Rope Licorice). Additions? Help me out guys.

A pint to the person who guesses from where Little Danny Death was derived.

3/31/2003 3:55:59 PM         The almighty Keg
Even though he didn't attend Gettysburg, Keg is too great a caricature to be left out. He even had a theme song (a bastardized version of Pearl Jam's Rats):

"Ke-e-e-g, the two of us need drink some more!"

I remember asking Bampf who would win in a fight, Perpetually Drunk Boy or Keg? Bampf believed that Keg would win, stating: although PDB's drunken state nullifies his body's ability to sense pain, Keg's moments of clarity would enable him to pummel PDB into unconsciousness after an hour or so of constant whaling.

p.s. Oh, and there's also Twirl Girl.
4/1/2003 6:58:31 AM         Damn!
I can t beleive I forgot Twirl Girl! At Stoner I even worked with a girl who was cousins with Twirl Girl (she thought the Twirl Girl moniker was hysterical).

I ll also point out that Keg had, in fact, two songs. He also had a Nirvana derived ditty-

"I wish I was like Keg, Easily amused..."

4/1/2003 8:18:42 AM         Heh
I am amazed to realize I don't even know who half these names belong to. I clearly remember LDD, Twirl Girl, Pubic Beard Boy and Commie G and I think I have a hazy recollection of Perpetually Drunk Guy but damned if I know the rest. Must be all that clean living going to my brain.

But how could you forget the "greasy, 12 cheese sammich eating mother f***er"?

-bp

Heh, Braid Lady. I hadn't thought of that in years.
4/1/2003 8:30:55 AM         No SDB
You don t remember Silly Dork Boy? C mon, man... we threw a blood filled apple at his door (well, more specifically grm did). Then we told him to piss off when he sheepishly asked us to clean it up. That was great... definately one of my favorite college memories... (maybe that could be a new list topic).

Forgot all about the greasy, 12 sammuch eater! Nice call.

I wasn't there for the apple thing. I seem to have missed out on a good bit of silliness. I think SDB and PBB were similar looking dudes. I doubt I could ever tell them apart.
