Quote of the Day:
Let me live deep while I live; let me know the rich juices of red meat and stinging wine on my palate, the hot embrace of white arms, the mad exultation of battle when blue blade flame and crimson, and I am content. Let teachers and priests and philosophers brood over questions of reality and illusion. I know this: if life is illusion, then I am no less an illusion, and being thus, the illusion is real to me. I live, I burn with life, I love, I slay, and I am content. -Conan of Cimmeria

Well, I m minutes away from an extended Turkey Day break, so I encourage all to have a great T-Day (truly the grandest of all holidays). I shall be away till at least Tuesday.

Before I go though, I thought I d give one of the aforementioned lists. My favorite movies list to be exact. I ll preface it by saying that the criteria for my favorite movies is unique to me and consists of a vast array of elements too disparate and non-sensical to even try to explain. Feel free to question my choices or omissions. I ll also point out that ranking these was particularly difficult and somewhat arbitrary. Without further ado, my top 30 movies:

30. Snatch
29. The Little Mermaid
28. Spaceballs
27. Resevoir Dogs
26. Blackhawk Down
25. Memento
24. Saving Private Ryan
23. Gettysburg
22. Brazil
21. Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon
20. Tombstone
19. Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
18. UHF
17. Pulp Fiction
16. Highlander
15. Pi
14. Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Rings
13. 13th Warrior
12. Braveheart
11. The Big Lebowski
10. The Matrix
9. The Princess Bride
8. Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead
7. Boondock Saints
6. Monty Python and the Holy Grail
5. 12 Monkeys
4. Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels
3. Life of Brian
2. Fight Club
1. Conan the Barbarian

This is my list after much contemplation. It changes daily, of course (I even made a couple changes while writing it). Just so I don t feel bad about omitting some really great movies I also have Honerable Mentions:

Fire and Ice
Dune
Fist of the North Star
Clerks
Moulin Rouge
Henry IV
Excalibur
Blood of Heroes
Hudsucker Proxy
Ran
William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet
The Land Before Time
Last of the Mohicans

Well, there you go. Happy Thanksgiving!

You forgot: Erin Brockovich, Pretty Woman, American Pie, and Office Space.
12/3/2002 11:36:11 AM         I like Office Space
As for the others, they may make appearances on my future list: Worst Movies Ever Made that Stupid People Payed Real Money to Actually Go and See.

Ah yes, that'll be the fun list...but not Office Space. Man, that deserves respect just for the line, "Don't come back in a dress! Ya big fag."

Goddamn that's funny.
